Ohio Steam Train Trail
Think Ohio and the Steam Train Trail.
History buffs can venture back in time with a tour of the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum. This National Historic Landmark is the nation’s most significant remaining example of a railroad canteen still reflecting its WWII heritage. After, climb aboard for our fall excursion train ride — it’s one of the best ways to experience our changing of the seasons!
Touch the hard metal of a 72-ton locomotive while you tour the 18 bay roundhouse at the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum. The museum also includes a 115-foot turntable and turntable pit along with the brick structure — the first full-sized working roundhouse built in the US since 1951.
See the works of Ernest “Mooney” Warther who carved 64 working trains from ebony and ivory. The Warther Museum will tell you the story how each carving was made to scale and each includes thousands
of pieces — and if you ask, they may even show you the locomotive with the ‘secret’ compartment.
